Casino Affiliate Programs (CAP) may find itself Blacklisted
February 11, 2009
Anyone who has been reading the
Online Casino Affiliate Forums in
the last several weeks couldn't help but see the upset and angry cry
from many affiliates and other industry members. Articles such as
this one are popping up all over webmaster sites in hopes that the
Owners of CAP - Lou and Warren - will finally become transparent for
their members and Affiliate Partners. Only then will the pressure
subside from this boiling steam pot.
Perhaps the most pertinent and disturbing fact uncovered in a five
part video series, done by the investigative team at APCW and GPWA,
is the relationship between Casino Affiliate Programs and CardSpike,
an online poker room. CAP owns and operates Effective Media, which
in turn operates the affiliate program for CardSpike. It has also
been revealed that Effective Media runs the Absolute Slots affiliate
program. Absolute Slots is a Rival
Gaming Casino. It should be noted that Absolute Slots Casino is a
quality casino.
As you may be aware,
running an online casino affiliate forum and not disclosing these
facts are deceptive to affiliates and other affiliate programs as
well.
These two online
gambling sites were promoted at CAP with no disclosure causing many
to cry foul. In fact, it creates a Conflict of Interest on many
levels. To date, some Poker Affiliates have not received their
earnings from CardSpike after several months. Below are links to the
video series which will clearly outline the connection in a five
part series:
To this date, there
has not been full disclosure on which Affiliate Programs are run by
Effective Media. We know that Absolute Slots is run by Effective
Media. Their is a forum for this program on CAP. However, CAP does
not disclose this information in their forum that CAP has a finger
in the pie at Absolute Slots. Are there others? There is no way to
tell. The purpose of this article is to bring some transparency to
the reader to form his or her own opinions on which programs to use
and approach with caution.
CAP Certification Deemed Useless
Casino Affiliate Programs pay exorbitant fees to CAP to have a
forum on the board. Programs also receive a 'Certification' Seal. In
fact, according to reports, CAP generates Millions (plural) per
year. Causing need for policing by the casino industry. That is just
for the CAP forum entity, never mind the other endeavors.
This has been the target of demands for restructure by many members
of the Affiliate world for some time now.
In fact, many believe
that unless a program is blatantly rogue, the only requirement for
programs to be 'Certified' by CAP is by paying the fee. This is
unhealthy for the industry as newer affiliates will view these
'Certified Partners' as if they are endorsed by CAP and/or it's
community. Many fear this will cause far reaching damage to the
Online Gambling Industry.
The CAP 'Banning Frenzy'
For a large entity that butters their bread via affiliates visiting
their forum, another bone of contention is the way these affiliates
are treated. The offenses imposed on affiliates and affiliate
programs are too numerous for Gambling Mojo to cover in one article.
Here are some examples supported by facts.
There appears to be a
mass amount of Bannings as shown in a poll done here by
Michael Corfman of the GPWA:
